Blackriver at YOU in Berlin

After a long break the time has come - fingerboarding will be present at the YOU fair in Berlin again.

On 25 sqm we'll present you the "Fast Fingers" World Cup park next to several other parks. Apart from BerlinWood's mastermind Timo Lieben the main characters of Berlin's fingerboard scene (Timo Kranz, Dimitri Schlotthauer, Harald Sch�n, Gene Senges etc.) will be on site.

Join us for a session, it'll be definetely worth it.

The fair takes place from May 31 - June 2 2013. You'll find more information about the fair on www.blog.you.de.

P.S. Non-Berliners could perfectly combine this trip with a visit at the Blackriver-Store ;-)

Report: 4. Fingerboard Contest F�rth

The contest season has already started and while we have been at the North the last two weeks, we were in F�rth these sunday (March 17th)! The Jugendhaus Hardh�he organized a fingerboard contest for the fourth time, accordingly everything ran smoothly.

Together with Lydia Wilfling, Stefan Klauser and Thomas Hansen I arrived the location at abou 1pm. With a little help of the motivated Jugendhaus team it wasn't long before the parks were set up.

The contest started at about 3:30pm, the atmosphere was great and the level was high. Every rider had two runs, the best seven riders had an additional finalrun. With his smooth nollie 360flip to 5-0s Fabian Gr�ssler from Schwabach won. Stefan Borst were placed second, Tobias Stoll were placed third.
The add-on Game of S.K.A.T.E. with the best three riders was also won by Fabian and so he got the wildcard to take part in Fast Fingers 16!

Big thanks to the Jugendhaus Hardh�he for this great fourth contest and we are already looking forward to the next year!

Battle of Berlin & Battle at the Harrics #04

The international fingerboard scene will come together again on march 22nd and 23rd to the 4th Battle at the Harrics! As every year 64 of the best fingerboarders worldwide will take part in this extraordinary 'Game of S.K.A.T.E.' and fight for the prize money. Who will be the winner of 1000 Euro after Elias Assmuth's success in the last year?

This year the whole event will already start on Friday, march 22nd at the Blackriver Store Berlin, when 16 locals will meet 16 riders from all over Germany at the Battle of Berlin, to get the last wildcard for the next days' Battle at the Harrics. If you want to be there to watch the battles or just having a nice session, come to the Boxhagener Str. 14 in Berlin. The event starts at 2pm!

The next day the original Battle at the Harrics will be held at the Cassiopeia (RAW Temple) with international starting field. It starts at midday, entry is free and, of course, there will be several parks to fingerboard on.

The day ends with a great aftershow party at Cafe K�ste, next to the Cassiopeia. For more information visit:

It has already been one or two weeks, since we first discovered Ramon Angelow's new fingerboard part on Harry's youtube cannel. When we wanted to share this clip full of bangers, it was blocked from german youtube because of its music... a common problem - Gema vs. youtube...
At least Ramon uploaded this clip once again on vimeo and so it's available for everyone again! You surely know about Ramon's great fingerboard skills, but in this clip he is even better. One hard trick after another, combined in endless lines and - as is usual - great filming and editing by Harry let us just tell you: Watching this clip is required!!!

Report: 1. Meppener Fingerboard Contest

On Saturday, March 2nd the first Fingerboard Contest took place at the youth center JAM in Meppen! After sitting in the car for about six hours and travelling via Frankfurt to pick up Nina, we finally arrived on Friday evening. Our accomodation was a little scary, because we were the only ones there. We found a good Italian restaurant and spent the evening fingerboarding our Big Mini.

The day of the contest started very relaxed. After getting a great breakfast in our hostel we drove to the location at around 11am. After setting up all parks, we had enough time, riding a session and having fun with the locals and all the other participating fingerboarders and drinking coffee with Peter, the host of the contest.

More and more people arrived and at around 3pm we started the contest. 22 riders participated and there was a great atmosphere at the well visited location. The event was moderated by Dennis 'Danjo' Jung and Bj�rn Loeken and the fingerboarding level increased from round to round. At least the last five riders played the well known Game of S.K.A.T.E.

All things considered it was a relaxed and successful event, Blackriver says thank you and we are looking forward to 2014!

Diving For Sunken Treasure - new album out now!

Blackriver and music? Yeah, why not?! After all, fingerboarding and skateboarding without music would be difficult to imagine. Music is responsible for the right atmosphere in our videos and is an important medium to express our attitude towards life. That's why many of us are musicians by ourselves and play in bands. For example, one of our first team riders Sebastian Kiefer and his band 'Diving For Sunken Treasure' just released their second album 'Motherfucker Jazz Bar'. We were able to take part in their release concert and we are really excited about the creative sound of the band! Here you can get a brief glimpse to the concert, but if you are interested in the full range of 'Diving For Sunken Treasure' we recommend you to listen to the whole new album. Blackriver Store Berlin - Locals' Birthday Sessions

It was just last week, when the Blackriver Store Berlin was honored as 'Shop of the week' on our Facebook fanpage. Indeed, this title can not really cope with the shop, because for the fingerboard scene the Blackriver Store Berlin is just more than an ordinary shop. Fingerboarders all over the world try to be there at least once and locals try to be there almost every day.

The Blackriver Store Berlin is the center of the Berlin fingerboard community and is basis for a lot of friendships, which rised in the last two years. Thanks to the Store team around Timo Kranz and Harald Sch�n there is a comfortable atmosphere all the time. Beginners are welcome, the staff is there to answer questions and help you to set up your fingerboard.

The locals feel so well here, they even celebrate their birthdays at the store. Birthday at fast food restaurants, ice cream shops or basement party rooms were yesterday. Today you get niblets from the fingerboard counter as well as small contestes and game of S.K.A.T.E.s as supporting program.

Not just living inventory of the Blackriver Store Berlin, but one or even the most active fingerboard filmers in Germany, Harry, always tries to catch those moments with his camera, so you can take a look at those events on youtube. With the 'L�loff Birthday Session' and 'Tobi's Birthday Session' there are two examples of store birthday parties. If you want to see more footage of the Blackriver Store Berlin, just search for it on youtube. The search term 'Blackriver Store Berlin' gives you several pages of results with videos from Harry, the locals or even visitors from all over the world and every single video is amazing!

4. Fingerboard Contest F�rth

The youth center 'Jugendhaus Hardh�he' in F�rth (near Nuremburg) invites you to its fourth fingerboard contest on sunday, March 17th. The doors are open from 2pm, the contest itself starts at 3pm. The attendance fee amounts to 2 Euro. Next to the contest a tombola is planned and some skate videos will be shown! Next to numerous material prizes for all winners there will be one wildcard for the sixth fingerboard world championships (Fast Fingers 16), which will be hold in May in Schwarzenbach/Saale. So you see, it's worth it!

Support your local skateshop

Today Blackriver releases two new fingerboard obstacles. Both brick ramps are included in our 'Support your local skateshop' program. So you won't find these ramps in our webshop or somewhere else online. With our 'Support your local skateshop' program we want to set an example and support your local skateshops, because exactly these shops are responsible for skateboard culture in your city. More information about our concept and all participating shops you can find here. If you can't find your local skateshop between the participating shops, this shouldn't be a problem. Just feel free to ask the shop. We don't have a minimum order quantity, so the shops can order single ramps, too!

Fingerboard Take Over Germany News (Part III)

Before you could turn round, everything's over! Olli is back in BR-City and just sent me the final part of the tour report. Here we go!

"The Fingerboard Take Over Germany is over and we have no words... at the first I want to say thank you! Thank you to everyone, who was there! Thank you to all of you, who took part! Thanks to all shops and all well-known fingerboarders, thanks to all of you, who let us sleep in your homes! ;)
� at least thanks to Christian Hennemann, Aljosha Lellig and Stefan Klauser. The last two weeks were amazing!
But now the summary of the last four stops:
After visiting Flensburg we drove to Kiel. We were welcomed with open arms and realized instantly, that the Crymble Skateshop wants more. I think we will be there again soon!
After an amazing session and, for a change, a GOS at the park, we punctually hit the road to Erfurt, the longest distance of the tour.
The next day in Erfurt we had a funny stop. The local crew was so motivated, so we organized a spontaneous Best Trick Contest. Thank you to the Erfurt crew! :)
Next stop was Dresden, where we could use the whole basement of the Titus skateshop. So we had three parks and a great session. This wouldn't have been possible without the PoP Decks guys, who are responsible for the huge scene in Dresden.
The tour's final stop took place in Berlin, a so called home game for Blackriver :). The atmosphere was great and the GOS on a high level. We were really impressed, that our tour stopp was something special there, even if there are always famous fingerboarders available. Big thanks to all of you, especially Timo Kranz and Harry Sch�n.
So I hope to see you all again and: Keep on fingerboarding..."

Fingerboard Take Over Germany News (Part II)

Time goes by and just in this moment I got the second part of the tour report! As before the text is from Olli Blankenburg and the photos were taken by Stefan Klauser!

"On the second part of our tour everything's getting better and better. The fifth stop in D�sseldorf was the most crowded one so far. A lot of people were there and corresponding there was a high level. If this could be topped in Bochum?
Oh, yes! 48 participants and around 70 people, part of them even from the Netherlands!
After the only day off we drove to Hamburg. There were less people, but just well-known dudes like Valentin Leiber, Raul J�rgensen, Max Bube, Jan Fr�hling and so on...
Last but not least we came to Flensburg and met a lot of old friends. Together we were able to arrange all parks.
At this point a big thank you to all of you, who gave us a place to sleep! Now we are looking for the last third of our tour!
Oh, and by the way Shorty is great! And so is Choi... "

Fingerboard Take Over Germany News (Part I)

The germany tour is going on and some you surely want to know, if our team riders doing well travelling from town to town and from session to session.

Yesterday at night we got a short status report from Olli Blankenburg together with some pictures by Stefan Klauser!

�After four passed stops we are very happy with the tour. The atmosphere was amazing at each stop and the trick level seems to increase permanently. At our first stop in Munich we could welcome the first famous guest Martin Winkler and together we discovered that girls got more style.
On the next day we met Max Zulauf. At the Fozzy Skateshop we were treated like kings, so at this point we want to shout out a big �Thank you!�.
After that we came to Karlsruhe and met the possibly biggest fan, who will definitely stick in our memories.
At least (for now) we landed in Wiesbaden, till now the stop with its most action. Piratenholz, Fingerboard Store and some Flaked dudes were there. According to this the level in our GoS was really high!
So, till now everything is great and we are really looking forward to the rest of the tour!�

2 Years Blackriver Store Berlin - The Birthday Montage

One of the last events in 2012 has been the second anniversary of the Blackriver Store Berlin. It's flyer told us about Harry's plans to film tricks for a huge montage and finally it's there!

Almost seven minutes featuring all generations of fingerboarders, it didn't matter you are ten and just entered the scene or thirty years old and ripping for years. Seeing all these different styles and a huge variety of tricks in one video is amazing!

At least this video is showing one important aspect of fingerboarding: community!
